Cuckoo’s Latest Feature: Statistics to Motivate and Support Break Exercise

At Cuckoo, we constantly improve our app to better meet the needs of our users and offer an enhanced user experience. Our goal is to encourage regular breaks during the workday and support holistic wellbeing.

The New Statistics Page – What Does It Offer?

Our latest update introduces the Statistics Page to the Cuckoo app, allowing users to track their personal break exercise stats. The statistics provide insights into:

  • The number of breaks taken on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Body areas targeted during breaks.
  • The average intensity of the exercises.
  • The variety of movements and activities performed.

With the statistics, users can easily monitor their progress and see how their breaks positively impact their wellbeing and activity levels.

Why Did We Create the Statistics Page?

Cuckoo’s CTO, Eero Junttila, explains the importance of developing the Statistics Page:

“The motivation to take breaks can easily wane after the initial enthusiasm. That’s why we wanted to create a tool to help users stick to their break routines and identify areas for improvement. The statistics allow users to track their progress and see where they’ve already focused their efforts and where they could improve.”

Additionally, seeing tangible results can be motivating for many people, encouraging them to maintain good break routines. The statistics not only reflect past actions but also help users plan for the future, experiment with new exercises, and diversify their break routines.

Enhancing the Experience with Data

The Statistics feature enables Cuckoo users to access data on the effectiveness of their breaks and receive tailored recommendations for future breaks.

Cuckoo uses data from a user’s past breaks to provide personalised suggestions for more holistic movements that better support overall wellbeing. The app also takes into account the user’s preferences, combining this information to recommend the most suitable break activities.

“We didn’t create the Statistics feature just for users to view their data visually. From the outset, our goal has been to make data as useful as possible for users – whether that’s through better break recommendations or increased motivation,” summarises Junttila.

Positive User Feedback

The Statistics feature has been very well received. Users find the new feature helpful and particularly appreciate the data-driven, more precise recommendations.

It’s not just a way to track actions but also an inspiring tool for improving personal wellbeing. The result? A more motivated, energised, and healthier user – both as an individual and as part of a workplace community.

Boosting Workplace Wellbeing and Productivity with Regular Breaks

Regular break exercise benefits not only individuals but also businesses. Scientific studies show that frequent, short breaks involving physical movement improve cognitive function and overall productivity during work hours.

Energised and refreshed employees are more productive and efficient, while regular breaks can significantly reduce sick leave. Regular breaks improve wellbeing in several ways:

  • Reducing brain fog: Guided, regular breaks with Cuckoo help alleviate brain fog and enhance focus.
  • Increasing productivity: Cuckoo encourages users to take micro-breaks, which are scientifically proven to boost productivity by preventing burnout and maintaining energy levels.
  • Reducing the harms of sedentary work: Prolonged sitting can cause various musculoskeletal issues. Regular breaks help interrupt sedentary work and reduce its adverse effects.
  • Scientifically improving wellbeing: Cuckoo supports overall wellbeing by reducing stress and promoting a positive work-life balance.

The Cuckoo wellbeing app supports employees in numerous ways, and the new Statistics feature is one of the tools to achieve this. With Statistics, Cuckoo encourages employees to take breaks more frequently and focus on their recovery, bringing benefits and cost savings to the entire organisation.
